預覽簡介：
20世紀50年代末，已成為暢銷作家的伊上洪作（役所廣司 飾）百忙之中回到湯島老家探望年邁的雙親。遠在東京的家中，妻子美津（赤間麻裏子 飾）、長女郁子（ミムラ 飾）和次女紀子（菊池亞希子 飾）正馬不停蹄地幫他做著輔助工作，正值叛逆期的小女兒琴子（宮崎葵 飾）則有意無意反抗著父親的強權。回到東京不久，老父親隼人（三國連太郎 飾）的噩耗傳來，留給洪作的是無法參透的萬千情感。歲月流轉，伊上壹家時聚時散，女孩們漸漸長大，有著彼此的生活與心事，壹向強勢的洪作也漸漸嘗到初老的孤獨況味。與此同時，母親八重（樹木希林 飾）隨著年歲的增長，記憶力逐漸衰退。壹方面履行著身為人子的義務，壹方面又因童年被母親“拋棄”而心存芥蒂。萬千情感之下，是永生無割舍的羈絆……
本片根據日本作家井上靖創作的自傳體小說《我的母親（わが母の記）》（分“花下”、“月光”、“雪面”三部）改編。
