2.專為nds硬件所設計：
當時所有人都質疑這次軟硬件的結合是否能夠成功？因為rockstar曾經在gba上推廣《俠盜獵車》而一敗塗地。事實也證明，《俠盜獵車》系列確實需要 3d運算機能強大的平臺作為硬件媒體來開發，這也是團隊的初衷。《俠盜獵車》所傳達的───就是火爆，無次序和自由。
gba平臺上幼稚園一般的《俠盜獵車》讓玩家大為不滿。隨之，作品成為了典型的既不較好，自然也不叫座的遊戲。本次nds平臺作品rockstar開發小組顯然不願意再度面對尷尬局面，要知道，《俠盜獵車》這樣的作品在次時代是非常受歡迎的。團隊制作方面盡量的回避掉3d運算能力較弱這個硬傷，在其他方面下功夫，使得最終nds平臺作品不再有原gba平臺那樣“幼稚”的畫面，作品在2d與3d之間找到一個很好的平衡點，用一種較為特殊的抽象漫畫風格和俯視角度表現形式將《血戰唐人街》展現在玩家面前。

而《俠盜獵車》系列中包含大量血腥、暴力、粗口等內容題材與任天堂近年來倡導的休閑、全家同樂的nds顯得格格不入。就在09年開春季節裏，《gta》玩家迎來了nds掌機首款“m級”作品───《俠盜獵車：唐人街戰爭》。在早前時候本作甚至還獲得各界一致如潮，媒體平均分更是高達94 分！而有分析師預計其首月銷量應可達到200000甚至450000套左右，據npd的2009年3月底銷售數據表明，2009年3月17日發售的《唐人街戰爭》只售出了8.9萬份，其實際銷量數量只有88704萬套，遠遠低於發行商take-two的預期，典型的叫好不叫座型。難道說nds上的大作都需要遵循長賣？就是它們能夠長期銷售一段時間，而不是僅僅一個月，才能達到預期的銷量嗎？

4.e3低調宣布跨平臺：
而如果重口味的成人遊戲不受這臺休閑為主的掌機用戶歡迎，那麽日後廠商可能不會再考慮在nds上制作同類級別的遊戲。可惜最終的事實也許正是如此吧，作品在銷量上的不盡人意還是最後讓發行商take-two改變了最初的獨占想法。
2009年6月份在美國洛杉磯舉行的e3展上，rockstar games的母公司take-two interactive正式宣布nds《俠盜獵車：唐人街戰爭》將會告別“獨占”，正式轉戰索尼psp掌機！對於遊戲的移植，官方表示遊戲畫面會提升到 psp屏幕的16：9的高度。而作將通過umd實體光盤與psn付費下載兩種銷售方式在北美上市。

5.再看《唐人街戰爭》銷量：
雖然不管現在《唐人街戰爭》的劈腿事件究竟如何，截止到2009年8月底所統計的銷量數據來看，《唐人街戰爭》已經在世界範圍內銷售了近60萬套。不知道這對於nds玩家來說是好事還是壞事呢？而《唐人街戰爭》目前光是在北美範圍內賣就出了30萬套，看來這類遊戲確實要遵循長賣的原則。而在其他地區則也賣出了28萬套，世界範圍內合計有58萬套。如果算上移植到psp平臺的銷量，樂觀估計在09年年底《唐人街戰爭》會有100萬套的銷量。

二、故事背景：
psp移植強化版《俠盜獵車：唐人街戰爭》（grand theft auto: chinatown wars）遊戲遊戲設定在liberty city（自由城），玩家扮演huang lee（李皇），唐人街華人黑幫大佬的兒子。父親一次在火拼中給人殺害了。huang lee只能從香港飛到自由城，一是為了給父親報仇，二是繼承家業───當幫派老大，當然想搶老大位置的人不少，而huang lee也不可避免的卷入了爭奪戰。於是在光怪陸離的大熔爐自由城裏，huang lee的冒險就此展開……
三、遊戲特色：
psp移植強化版《俠盜獵車：唐人街戰爭》（grand theft auto: chinatown wars）的遊戲畫面會提升到psp屏幕的16：9的高度，沿用nds的廣角俯視角度。並且會加強光影效果以及動畫效果，此外還會增加全新的psp獨有故事模式。而據悉，這款由rockstar leeds工作室開發的遊戲將以umd和psn下載的形式發售，這也就意味著遊戲肯定會在預定2009年10月1日北美上市的新主機pspgo上市後才會發售。

3.protection racket'模式：
就好比時下流行的《cs》射擊遊戲，玩家分組為攻、守兩方，在兩回合中雙方幫派人馬分別擔任一次攻守角色，攻方要想盡辦法在有限時間內毀掉守方基地中的四輛豪華大禮車（limo），而守方則是要不顧一切來嚴防這四輛禮車被攻方給摧毀。
4.get stretch'模式：兩方人馬都要想盡辦法將對方車子給偷開回自己的基地裏面，同時還得保護自己幫派的車子不被對方給偷走，萬一幫派車輛真被對方給偷走的話，玩家可以選擇是要去將它搶回並開回基地，或將它就地摧毀，也不要讓敵對幫派將之偷開去用；此外，被對方偷走的幫派車輛如一段時間內，對方疏於看管之下，那麽該輛幫派車將會自動回到原所屬的幫派基地裏面；玩家必須要同時擁有雙方車輛在基地內才算是一次成功奪取，先達成關卡所規定的分數一方或是在時間限制內達成最多次奪取的一方即可成為贏家。

5.the his list'模式：此模式將隨機數選出一位玩家作為被其它玩家所獵殺的目標，被獵殺的目標要想盡辦法活下來不被獵殺，而殺手們則是要想盡辦法用最快速度解決掉被獵殺的目標，目標一旦被獵殺清除掉之後，系統將再隨機數挑選出一位被獵殺的目標；當玩家成功獵殺目標將可在遊戲結束後得到額外的生存時間點數，當所有玩家都被獵殺完，最終取其生存時間最長久者為贏家；獵殺期間內目標所搭乘載具將是可以被破壞的。

6.street rage'模式：玩家必須駕駛載具通過檢查點並搶第一個到達終點，途中允許玩家更換其它載具來搭乘，或是射殺對手阻撓他們前進；如一段時間裏玩家不在載具內，或是遭其它競爭對手射殺，則將會自動在位於賽道上的載具裏重生（re-spawned）並繼續進行遊戲，第一個到達終點並完成路線的玩家為贏家；遊戲途中吃到 sticky tires 這項道具將可讓玩家的載具在一段時間限制內獲得更好的操控性；吃到 instant repair 則可讓玩家載具立即得到修復。
